Halfway through March!

I cannot believe how fast time flies.  Like really, it's March already?!  Anyway, my birthday is a few weeks away and I've been procrastinating.  How the hell would I celebrate it this year?  Should I just spend it with my family or go crazy and book a VIP section at a club?  I've already done the latter last year but I'm thinking of doing it again this year but crazier this time around.  If I'm gonna do it, I should be booking the place like right now.  But the laziness in me is winning by a mile.  Or maybe not celebrate it at all??  Hmm, that sounds very tempting in a way.  I don't have to fuss over arrangements and shit and I get to be lazy and do nothing instead of nursing a very nasty hangover the next day.  Yeah, I've got such big problems eh?

** I just wanted to share this to all of you. This painting is done by one of my greatest friends, Krissy. And yes, one of them is me with Krissy and Melanie (one of our good friends as well) during our younger years, though I haven't seen them in years, the memories we've made are relived in this one painting.  I love it and I want it on my wall! Thank you Krissy! You are forever appreciated!

Confession #22

You know when you're down but whatever you do to keep your spirits up, nothing changes?  It's like, you try to look at the good side of things but then you get sucked up in this vortex of unhappiness that you can't escape?  That's how I'm feeling right now.  I mean I'm happy with my family and everything else but I can't help but feel trapped in this situation which is my job.  I know it's easy -- do something and make a change right?  Well to me it's not.  I so badly want to get out of this hellhole and do something but I just can't seem to do it.  I have responsibilities and I need to bring in a second income to help.  I keep thinking, my husband makes more money than I do and even with only his income we would be fairly comfortable.  He's very supportive of me doing what I think would be best for me and us.  But then again, I wasn't raised to depend on anybody.  I'm a very independent person and I want to keep it that way.  Am I even making sense?

I've been looking for courses to take for a career change and so far I've narrowed it down to two.  Medical Office Administration or Dental Assistance.  I'll probably choose the latter.  But at this time, it's only just a plan.  A plan that I have yet to execute to better our life as a family.  I need to do this.  I must do this mainly because I have to save my sanity.  All I need to do is research more about it and a whole LOT of convincing.  God help me.

Dilemma

I've been thinking about this for the longest time.

As many (or all) of you know, I'm already at my wit's end of dealing with my shitty boss who blatantly disrespects anybody he comes into contact with and has a complete disregard to other people's feelings.  I'm not gonna go into detail on how he treats us.  It's really THAT bad.  To the point that nobody ever smiles anymore.  Everytime he comes in, everybody just stops talking AND breathing.

I've been weighing my options for a good while now.  Should I keep sending out my resume and look for another job or go back to school and start a new career?  I want to look for another job but I've been sending out my resume for over a year now and nobody has responded.  Nobody.  It's just so damn hard to get a new job nowadays.  I've always wanted to go back to school but it's hard when you have a toddler who's still dependent on you.  I could try night school but my husband works nights many times and they have no definite schedule so it's gonna be really hard for us.  Plus, if I apply for government assistance, I can't really work fulltime because I "should" be in school-that's what they told many of my friends who applied for it.  And if I don't work, we're gonna be living on one income until I graduate and get a fulltime job from my new career.  I just can't impose that on my husband.  I mean we can still live on one income but I'm gonna be guilty doing that to him.  I've talked this over with him and he's very supportive of me going to school.  We could hold off on a lot of things until I'm done.

I just want to live this hellhole.  I'm not happy working here anymore because of the stress and it's taking a toll on my well-being.  I can't stay because it's unhealthy.  And not worth it.

Snow Day!!!

I started working the show on Sunday.  It was quite busy in the morning but the crowd didn't pickup again after lunch so I decided to look around and shop.  Well guess what I found?  Purses.  Lots and lots of cute ones.  I went to this store named Passion and man did the sight make me drool!  And of course, the compulsive shopper in me decided what the hell?  Might as well buy since I'm here.  Good thing one of the sales reps was really nice and she let me shop in her booth (as I've mentioned on my previous blog, we're not allowed to do that because our company is in the show).  So I looked around and pointed the ones that I wanted not knowing that I'm over $200 already-good thing she mentioned it or I would've bought the entire booth =/.  Oh well, I think it's all worth it so I whipped out my credit card and paid.  I got 13 purses in all!  I'm so excited!  A woman can never have enough of those things =D

Yesterday was busy as well.  I think all the retailers decided to finish their shopping yesterday because there's a forecast of a snowstorm headed to Toronto and the GTA.

I woke up the usual time this morning to get ready for work.  I looked outside the window and hello!  There's a snowstorm indeed.  I thought the media was exaggerating like they always do but this time it looks like they're right.  It didn't look pretty out there and I'm so not driving in that storm so I decided to stay home.  Turns out that a LOT of people are staying home today and there are a lot of cancellations because of this.  Good thing I watched the news before I even got ready.  So everybody's home and we're just chilling.  I'm trying to catch up with friends since I haven't logged in since last friday.  Here's to a fun snow day!

TGIF!!!

It's friday!!!  I have to work at the Show on Sunday so I'm going home early today to spend a measly 2 days (well, not even =/) with my husband and our son.  My boss isn't at the office today because he's setting up our booth at the Congress Centre but man he just wouldn't leave us alone!  He keeps calling and calling about senseless things, really.  He's just too dependent on me and my other 2 co-workers it's unbelievable.  We're constantly being interrupted and we're not getting anything done because of that.

Anyway, I'm just too exhausted with all the chaos that comes at this time of year so whatever *shrug*.  So tata people!  I'll be updating when I get the chance.

Busy season again...

We are currently setting up for the bi-annual Toronto Gift Show.  This show will keep us very busy for the next few months.  It's open for retailers, not the public and there are lots of awesome stuff to buy!  I myself can't stop shopping for great finds.  Oh, and did I mention that all the things in the show is in wholesale price?  That same cute purse that you bought for $80?  It's for sale for about $20-30 at the show.  There, I said it.  But I can't buy until the end of the day to avoid conflict.  It's just one of those rules because our company IS part of it.

So anyway, I will be working our booth next week.  I have to be there to meet longtime clients and potential new ones (which makes me remember to order more business cards, sheesh!).  I probably won't be able to post for the next few days (or week/s) after the show is over because then, I'd be dealing with customer orders and whatever issues that may arise.  I love being busy because I know my boss will leave me alone.  I hate being interrupted.

I hope everything ends well and that I get to take home a lot of goodies! =D
